What changes

What changes for whoever answers for the plant

Nobody takes the kit off inside the hall: it never goes on at the door, and at six in the morning the airlock is full of people in a hurry. Today that depends on somebody looking up at exactly the right second. With IRIS the alert fires at the door itself, with the time and the seconds of video, and there is still time to stop that person before they reach the clean area. And it leaves the count an audit asks for. IRIS does not lock the turnstile: it warns, and a person decides.

What people usually ask

Does IRIS know who went in without a hairnet?

No. IRIS does not identify anyone. It detects that SOMEBODY has gone through the turnstile without a hairnet; it does not detect WHO that person is, does not recognise their face, does not compare it against any database, does not cross-check it with the clocking system and does not store who they are. The alert says somebody went in without a hairnet, with the camera and the time. It is there to fix the situation on the spot, not to discipline a named person.

Can it tell whether somebody washed their hands?

Yes, if the wash trough is in shot. IRIS sees whether the person stopped at the wash station and for how long, and it flags anyone who walks straight past. What it cannot see is whether the wash was effective: that depends on the product, the time and the technique, and it is checked by the hygiene plan's own controls. The camera provides the fact and the minute; effectiveness is the control's job.

Does the alert lock the turnstile?

No. IRIS watches and warns; opening, closing or letting somebody through is still a person's decision, made with the plant's own criteria. That is deliberate: a system that bars the door on its own ends up locking out the people who needed to get in, and within days somebody unplugs it. IRIS warns while it is happening; acting is the hall supervisor's job.
