Eight people in the room and the routes crossing
Twenty past ten in the filling room. There are eight people inside. Two have just come in through the locker door, one is checking the machine panel and another crosses the middle carrying a tray of materials. The routes cut across each other in the centre of the room. IRIS counts how many people are inside at any moment and where they walk. Counting is set up by drawing the zone onto the picture, not by describing it in a sentence.

What IRIS understands
What it recognises in this scene
- person crossing the room with materials
- person on the way to the line
- person at the machine panel
- two people coming in from the gowning room
- filling line behind the glass
What this camera measures
An alert says something is happening. The reading says how much.
- 8People in the room
- 12 minTime above the headcount
- 14Entries counted in the last hour
- 3Route crossings counted
- 10:20Time of the alert
The figures on this screen are an example from the illustration, not any client's measurement.
The rule
You decide once. IRIS applies it always.
If
the number of people inside the room goes above the validated headcount
Then
- alert the room supervisor with the camera, the time and the number of people
- save the video of the entries and exits in those minutes
- time how long the room stays above the limit
The instruction that set it up«Tell me if there are more people in the room than we have validated, and how long it lasted.»
What changes
What changes for whoever answers for the plant
A validated room condition includes how many people may be inside. Today that gets estimated; with the camera it is known, minute by minute, and the exact time the room spent above the limit is on record. And one thing weighs here: IRIS people counting is approved by the Spanish Centre of Metrology. In a regulated environment, an approved number holds up to an audit question; an impression does not.
What people usually ask
Is the people counting certified?
Yes. IRIS people counting is approved by the Spanish Centre of Metrology, and it is the only thing we call certified. Every other detection is designed to comply, not certified, and we say so on purpose. In a cleanroom that difference matters: the number of people who were inside can be put in front of an auditor.
Does IRIS know who has come into the room?
No. It counts people, it does not identify them. It does not recognise faces or match them against any list: it sees how many are inside and where they walk. The name, if it is needed, comes from the plant access control by lining up the time of the alert with its own log.
Can a route crossing be watched as well?
Yes, if the routes are drawn onto the picture. Asking is for searching and counting is for measuring, and they are not done the same way: a route or a line cannot be described in a sentence, it has to be drawn. With the zone drawn, IRIS sees that somebody has walked where their route did not go. Which route is valid is decided by the plant, not by the camera.

The real interface, step by step
No extra alarms here. Just what needs looking at.
Not a recorded video, not an explanatory drawing: a summary of the real screen, with a different case every time it starts. There is a lot more behind it.
- The alert fires
- It lands in the tray
- You open it
- You confirm or dismiss

Who is watching a whole quay at three in the morning?
14 cases: 13 raise an alert when something happens and 1 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.

Who is watching the cameras of a whole branch network?
13 cases: 12 raise an alert when something happens and 1 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
And the best part
A whole afternoon in front of a screennow fits into one written sentence.
The video has not changed: it is all still there, in the same place. What has changed is that you can ask it questions, and the answer comes with its camera and its time.
