What changes for whoever answers for the plant
Mixing one quality status with another is among the most expensive mistakes, and among the hardest to see: in the system the pallet is still where the paperwork says, because the system does not look at the floor. With the camera the store manager gets the alert as the pallet crosses the line, with the time and the image. Putting it back takes a minute. Explaining it three weeks later takes considerably longer.
What people usually ask
Does IRIS know which batch is on each pallet?
Not on its own. The camera sees where each pallet is and whether it has crossed a line painted on the floor. Which batch it is and what status it holds comes from the warehouse system. Put the two together and the alert stops being a suspicion: there is a time, an image and one specific pallet on the line. IRIS does not replace that system, it works alongside it.
Does it work if the zones are not marked on the floor?
Yes, although painting them helps. The zones are drawn on the camera image exactly as they would be drawn on the floor, and the rule works just as well. What is needed is for the plant to decide where each zone starts and ends: IRIS does not write that rule, it watches it. And a drawn zone takes a minute to change when the store is reorganised.
Does the camera confirm the material is fit for use?
No. A camera sees where something is, not what is inside it. Whether a material is fit is decided by its analysis and its documentation, not by an image. What IRIS adds is the part that today is recorded nowhere: that this pallet spent twelve minutes where it should not have been, at what time, and the video that proves it.
