CAM-289
One vial is short and another goes by empty
Outfeed belt from the filler. Glass vials with dark caps move along it, all with the same liquid level. Two do not fit: one sits clearly below the line of the rest and another goes by empty. The line screen shows the comparison between the correct level and the two that are not. One operator works the panel beside the belt while another checks a vial further back. IRIS compares every vial with the pattern it sees on the run.

What IRIS understands
What it recognises in this scene
- vial below the level of the rest
- vial with no liquid
- vial at the correct level
- row of vials on the belt
- operator at the line panel
- operator checking a vial further back
What this camera measures
An alert says something is happening. The reading says how much.
- 2Vials off pattern
- 31Vials on the run
- 620Vials passed in the last hour
- 48 sTime since the first one
- 11:07Time of the alert
The figures on this screen are an example from the illustration, not any client's measurement.
The rule
You decide once. IRIS applies it always.
If
the liquid level of a vial does not match that of the other vials on the run
Then
- alert the line manager with the camera, the time and the image of the vial
- save the video of the run from the moment the vial entered the shot
- count how many off-pattern vials come out within the hour
The instruction that set it up«Tell me if a vial with less liquid than the rest, or an empty one, goes down the belt.»
What changes
What changes for whoever answers for the plant
An underfilled or empty vial reaches the end of the process today, once it is capped, labelled and inside a carton. With the camera the alert arrives while the vial is still on the belt, with the exact time. The line manager knows from which minute to review and how many units came out like that in that hour. It stops being a surprise at final control and becomes a figure from the shift.
What people usually ask
Does IRIS measure the millilitres in the vial?
No. The camera does not measure volume: it compares. It sees the liquid line of each vial against those beside it and raises an alert when one falls outside the pattern. The exact volume comes from the scale or from the machine's fill control. What IRIS adds is the image of that specific vial and the minute it went past.
What if the glass is opaque or the label covers the level?
Then this rule does not work, and it is better to know before installing the camera. The level is compared when it can be seen: clear glass, liquid with contrast and the vial not yet labelled. With an opaque container you have to measure another way, by weight or through the machine's fill control. Saying so up front avoids mounting a camera that cannot do what is asked of it.
Does the alert stop the line automatically?
No. IRIS alerts, it does not act: it does not stop a filler and it does not remove a vial. It sends the alert with the camera, the time and the video, and the person running the line takes the decision. What counts as off-pattern and what happens next is also written by the plant, not by the system.

See it for yourself
We won't just tell you. We'll show you.
It is a summary of the real screen: it plays by itself, step by step, and shows only the path of one case. The actual tool has far more than fits in here.
- You draw the line
- It counts by itself
- A number comes out

The motorway
Who watches an entire motorway?
10 cases: 8 raise an alert when something happens and 2 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
Public transport
Who watches a whole station at rush hour?
17 cases: 11 raise an alert when something happens and 6 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
And the best part
Ten cameras or four thousand:not one of them goes unwatched.
The day IRIS starts, they all start: the ten in a school or the four thousand in a whole network. And it only raises its hand when the thing you asked for happens.
