What changes for whoever answers for the plant
An open mixing point is the most fragile spot in a food plant: whatever goes in there ends up in thousands of packs. Today, if somebody opens that tank outside the planned window, nobody knows until the batch causes a problem. IRIS raises the alert while it is happening, with the camera, the minute and the video. It does not say who the person is or why they did it: a person decides that, looking at the image. That is why the alert arrives with video and not with a name.

Does IRIS decide that this is deliberate tampering?
No. IRIS sees one very specific thing: at a sensitive point, outside the operating window the plant has set, somebody has opened the lid and tipped something in. That is what it reports, in those words. It judges no intentions, it does not say whether this was deliberate or careless, and it points at nobody. Who was there, what went in and why is decided by a person with the video in front of them and the production record alongside.
Does IRIS identify the person in the picture?
No. IRIS does not recognise faces and does not compare them against any list. It sees that there is a person at that point, at that time, doing that. If the plant needs to know who it was, that comes from its own records: who was on shift, who badged in. That cross-check is done by the organisation with its own data, not by the camera.
Can it know what was in the bag?
No. A camera sees a bag, a movement and powder falling; it analyses nothing. If it matters what went into that tank, a laboratory test on the batch is needed, and the image does not replace it. What IRIS brings is the exact minute and the video, which is precisely what lets you narrow down which batch to test and which pallets to hold.
