The two-person rule exists because, if something goes wrong in there, the person who is alone cannot call for help. It is signed off in every procedure and it gets skipped whenever the job looked quick. Nobody checks it while it is happening, because checking would mean somebody was watching that screen at that exact moment. IRIS is always watching: it counts how many people are in the room and how long they have been there. If there are fewer than the procedure asks for, it says so while something can still be done, not in the report afterwards.

No, and that matters. The real electrical state is not something a camera sees: it comes from the system that runs the installation, with its lock-outs and its work permits. What IRIS sees is the other half: how many people are in the room, where they are and how long they have been there. That is the piece nobody has today, and it is what turns the two-person rule into something checkable instead of a signature.
Does a new rule have to be written every time?
No. You decide once — in this room, with a panel open, never fewer than two people — and it applies always, on every shift, with nobody having to remember. That is the difference between a rule and an instruction taped to the door: the instruction depends on somebody reading it; the rule runs itself.
Isn’t this keeping watch over the worker?
No. IRIS does not know who that person is, does not recognise faces and keeps no history of anybody. It counts how many bodies are in a room, exactly as it counts how many are in an aisle. And the rule protects the person inside: the alert exists so that they are not left alone, not to keep score of what they do.
