Something crosses the wall from above and drops a package inside
A restricted compound at dusk, the yard already empty. A drone crosses the top of the wall above the razor wire, carries a package slung underneath and throws a circle of light onto the paving. Below, the vehicle gate is shut, there is light in the booth and a service car has just pulled up in the street. IRIS does not say who is flying that drone or from where. It says there is an object flying inside a space where nothing may fly and that it has dropped a package in the yard, and it says so while it is happening.

What IRIS understands
What it recognises in this scene
- drone crossing the wall
- package slung under the drone
- circle of light on the paving
- perimeter wall with razor wire
- empty inner yard
- vehicle gate, shut
- control booth with the light on
- service car in the street
- person on duty pointing upwards
- warehouse doors
The rule
You decide once. IRIS applies it always.
If
something flies over the compound wall
Duringthe compound is closed and the yard empty
Then
- raise a red alert to the booth and the control room, with the point it crossed
- mark on the image the point in the yard where the package landed
- save the whole video of the overflight and attach it to the report
The instruction that set it up«Give me a red alert if something flies over the wall outside service hours.»
What changes
What changes for whoever goes out, whoever decides and whoever justifies it later
A high wall and razor wire solve the problem of who walks in, and solve nothing at all about what arrives from above. This camera gives back two things that did not exist before: the exact time it happened and the point in the yard where the package landed, which is the difference between searching a whole yard at night and walking straight to one spot. And it gives back a third that lasts: the saved sequence. When somebody asks, six months later, whether that really happened and at what time, the answer is not a memory.
What people usually ask
Can IRIS tell who is flying the drone?
No, and it does not try. A camera sees what happens in front of it: an object flying and a package falling. Who is operating it and from which rooftop is an investigation, and that is done by a person with the means and the authority to do it. What IRIS contributes is the entry point, the exact time and the video, which is precisely where any serious investigation starts.
And if what crosses is a bird?
It will happen, which is why the alert comes with the video attached. A bird and a drone do not move the same way — one flaps and drifts, the other goes straight and stops in mid-air — so most of them separate on their own. The ones that do not are separated by a person in two seconds looking at the clip. We would rather have one alert too many with video than one too few: looking costs two seconds, not knowing costs the whole night.
Can IRIS bring the drone down or jam its signal?
No. IRIS is a video system: it sees and it reports. It emits nothing, interferes with nothing and acts on no object. What it does is make sure somebody finds out at the time instead of the next day, and that it is recorded. Any measure against the drone is a decision for whoever holds that competence, under the rules that govern it, and it is not taken by a piece of software.

Simulation · how IRIS works
No extra alarms here. Just what needs looking at.
Not a recorded video, not an explanatory drawing: a summary of the real screen, with a different case every time it starts. There is a lot more behind it.
- Checks the whole system
- Flags what is failing
- Puts it on one screen

Casinos
How long does it take to find a hand played two hours ago?
12 cases: 9 raise an alert when something happens and 3 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
Shopping centres
What does a shopping centre see beyond the visitor count?
12 cases: 4 raise an alert when something happens and 8 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
And the best part
What happens in the small hoursdoes not have to wait for the morning report.
IRIS understands it there and then and tells whoever is on call, with the camera and the time. The next day there is nothing to reconstruct: it is already written down.
Tell us your problem and we will say whether IRIS understands it, or not yet.
