Does IRIS stop the conveyor when it sees hands inside?
No. IRIS alerts and saves the video; stopping the conveyor is done by a person or by the machine’s own system. The camera does not command any equipment. Its job is to get the alert out while it is happening, with the picture of that stretch and the exact minute, so whoever has the button can decide.
How does it tell a jammed conveyor from one that is simply full?
Because it looks at movement, not at quantity. A full conveyor that keeps moving is not a jam. IRIS raises the alert when parcels on that stretch have been still for longer than the site allows. That threshold is set by the site, not by the camera, and it changes when the operation changes.
Does it record who the operator was?
No. IRIS does not recognise faces and does not match them against any list. It sees «somebody has put their arms into the conveyor», not who that somebody is. The video is available to whoever is authorised to watch it, and working out who was on that station is a job for the shift roster, not for the camera.
