When a pallet goes into the wrong truck, the mistake only shows up when the customer opens the doors two hundred kilometres away. Then it has to come back, be re-slotted and explained. With the camera the alert arrives while the pallet is still in the mouth of the trailer, with the picture of the label and the exact minute. Taking it off costs two minutes. Bringing it back costs a whole day.
What people usually ask
Does IRIS know what is inside the boxes?
No. IRIS sees the pallet, counts the boxes and reads the label stuck on the outside. What is inside is what that label and the warehouse system say, not the camera. What the image adds is proof of which pallet crossed the trailer door, at what time and through which dock.
Does the warehouse system have to change?
No. IRIS works alongside it. The warehouse system still says what should go on each truck; the camera adds what that system does not have: the image of the pallet that actually went in and the exact minute it did.
Does the camera identify the operator doing the loading?
No. IRIS does not recognise faces or compare them with anything. It sees that a pallet went into a trailer, not who put it there. The rule is written about what moves and what the label says, never about people.
