A pallet heading out the door to a van

End of the afternoon, with the hall almost empty. A private van has backed up to the shipping door, rear doors open and several boxes already inside. In the middle of the aisle a man in a cap is pulling a hand pallet truck loaded with eighteen boxes towards that door. It is the third trip in twenty minutes. At the back, two operators and a forklift carry on working. IRIS sees a pallet leaving through a door that is not on its route.

What IRIS understands

What it recognises in this scene

  • pallet of boxes off its route
  • person pulling the pallet truck
  • van at the shipping door
  • shipping door wide open
  • boxes already loaded in the van
  • operator crossing the aisle

What this camera measures

An alert says something is happening. The reading says how much.

  • 18Boxes counted on the pallet
  • 3Trips to the door in twenty minutes
  • 5People in shot
  • 1Vehicles at the door
  • 19:15Time of the first trip

The figures on this screen are an example from the illustration, not any client's measurement.

The rule

You decide once. IRIS applies it always.

If

material crosses a door outside the scheduled loading window

Then

  1. alert the warehouse manager with the camera and the time
  2. save the video of the run from the moment the pallet starts moving
  3. count the items crossing the door and the trips made this shift
The instruction that set it up«Tell me if a pallet goes out the shipping door when no load is scheduled.»

What changes

What changes for whoever answers for the plant

Material that leaves by the wrong door shows up in no system: no delivery note, no scan, and no empty slot until the end-of-month count. With the camera, the warehouse manager has the alert while it is happening, with the time and the video of the whole run: from the moment the pallet starts moving until it crosses the door. What happened gets cleared up the same day.

What people usually ask

Does IRIS say that this is theft?

No. IRIS says that a pallet crossed a door outside the scheduled loading window, and hands over the time and the video. It could be theft, an urgent order without paperwork or a badly handled return. Who did it and why is decided by a person with the images in front of them. The camera provides the fact, not the intention.

How does IRIS know which departures are normal?

Because the plant writes it down. The doors are marked, the window in which loading is scheduled is defined, and the correct routes are indicated. Outside that, it alerts. IRIS does not decide what is normal in a warehouse: it applies what the plant decided, and applies it the same at three in the afternoon as at eleven at night.

Does it count what goes out the door?

Yes, and that is set up by drawing, not by talking. You trace a line across the door opening and IRIS counts every item that crosses it, in each direction. Asking is for searching; counting is for measuring. The number comes out the same every time it is repeated, and that is why it can be reconciled with the delivery note.

We won't just tell you. We'll show you.

It is a summary of the real screen: it plays by itself, step by step, and shows only the path of one case. The actual tool has far more than fits in here.

  1. You draw the line
  2. It counts by itself
  3. A number comes out

And the best part

What you bought was a warehouse of images. What you needed was someone to look at them.

Those same cameras that only fill disks today can flag what matters while it is happening. The warehouse stays; it just stops being all you have.

Tell us your problem and we will say whether IRIS understands it, or not yet.

We reply the same working day.
