Unloading into the wrong tank is not something you fix with a mop: the receiving tank’s contents are lost, the plant stops and, depending on which two products meet, there is a reaction. With the camera the alert comes when the hose is coupled, before the valve opens. The unloading supervisor has the picture of the flange in place, the time and the video of the previous minute for the investigation.

Does IRIS know what product the tanker is carrying?
No. The camera sees the tanker, the hose and which coupling it goes to. What it is carrying comes from the delivery note, and the composition from the goods-in analysis. What IRIS adds is the comparison between the unloading point on the paperwork and the point the hose has actually been coupled to. If they do not match, it alerts while the operator is still tightening the flange.
And if the correct point changes from one day to the next?
That is fine. The rule does not say «always the green manifold»: it says «whichever one the delivery note for that load names». The plant writes that correspondence and IRIS applies it load by load. Every connection point carries its own visible marking and the camera reads which one the hose went to.
Can IRIS stop the unloading?
No, and it should not. IRIS alerts; stopping a pump or closing a valve is decided by a person or by the plant’s control system. The camera supplies the alert with the picture and the exact minute, so that whoever is in charge decides with the scene in front of them instead of over the phone.
