In the count room, nobody is ever left alone
Count room, armoured door shut and two people inside. One is counting notes with the machine; the other is sorting chip trays. On the table there are bundles, sealed bags and the trays that have just come in from the corridor. House procedure says there can never be a single person in here, and tonight it is being met: that is why IRIS is not raising anything. What it sees is how many people are inside and when the door opens. The alert works the other way round from most cameras: it fires when only one person is left, or when one leaves before the count is finished.

The rule
You decide once. IRIS applies it always.
If
only one person is left inside the count room while the count is open
Then
- alert the compliance lead with the exact time they were left alone
- save the video of the whole session, from the moment the door opened
- log how many people were inside for every minute of the session
The instruction that set it up«Tell me if only one person is left in the count room while the count is open.»
What changes
What changes for the floor manager and for compliance
This is the rule most often explained and least often checked. It goes in the manual, it gets signed, it is audited once a year… and the rest of the time it depends on nobody popping out for a coffee. IRIS checks it without a break: it counts how many people are inside while the count is open and raises the moment only one is left. It is not there to distrust anybody, and it is worth saying so plainly: it is there so the person left alone does not have to prove afterwards that nothing happened. The video of the whole session proves it for them. And the limit is clear: IRIS counts people and watches the door. It does not count the money, does not read the bundles and does not know who anybody is.
What people usually ask
Does IRIS count the money?
No. IRIS does not read a bundle, does not know how much is on the table and touches no till data at all. It counts people and sees whether the door opens. The money is counted by the machine and signed off by the two people inside, exactly as before. What is added is the proof that both of them were there, the whole time.
Does IRIS know who each of the two people is?
No. IRIS does not recognise faces, does not compare them with anything and keeps nobody’s identity: to it they are two people, not two names. Who came into the room is what the access control system knows, and that is a different system with its own rules. If the casino wants to put the two together, that is its decision and its legal team’s, not something the camera does on its own.
And if one of the two steps out for a moment?
That is exactly what gets measured. The casino decides how many seconds the room may hold a single person before that becomes an alert, because stepping through the door is not the same as being away for ten minutes. IRIS applies that margin the same way every time, without tiring and without a view of its own. The house decides once; IRIS applies it every night.

How many bays are free right now?
15 cases: 9 raise an alert when something happens and 6 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
Stadiums and venues
What does a venue with twenty thousand people inside see?
15 cases: 11 raise an alert when something happens and 4 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
And the best part
One camera, and you already have a watchman. Four thousand cameras, and you have four thousand watchmen.
None of them tires, none of them looks away and none of them works shifts. And there is nothing to install: the cameras you already have can start understanding what they see.
