What changes for whoever answers for the plant

A basin with foam outside its normal pattern sends floatables into the discharge and dirties the effluent. The people running the plant want to know within the first half hour, not on the afternoon round. IRIS watches the water surface through the whole shift and alerts when foam covers more surface than usual or floatables start going over the weir. The video shows what arrived at the inlet earlier, so dosing is corrected with facts.

What people usually ask

Does the camera tell you why there is foam?

No. IRIS sees the foam, how much surface it covers and how long it has been there. The cause is confirmed with process control and laboratory analysis. The image contributes the exact time, which is precisely what you need in order to go and find what arrived at the inlet beforehand.

Can it be used to measure effluent quality?

No. Water quality is measured with probes and in the laboratory, and IRIS does not go there. What it contributes is the visible part: foam, floatables and water going over the weir, with video and a timestamp. It works alongside process control, not instead of it.

Does it work at night?

Yes, if the basin is lit or the camera sees in low light. Without enough light there is no image, and without an image there is no detection: lighting the spot is part of the installation and is decided before the camera goes up.
