CAM-347
No protective clothing beside the live cells
Mid-morning. Someone crosses the gravel of the yard, between the transformer and the switchgear, and reaches out toward the cells. No hard hat, no face shield, no gloves, no arc-rated clothing. Beside them, blue arcs are visible on the switchgear. Here nobody has to decide how many people are too many: one person without protection at that distance is already the incident.

What IRIS understands
What it recognizes in this scene
- person without protective gear
- arcs visible on the switchgear
- high-voltage cells
- power transformer
- switching cabinet
What this camera measures
An alert says something’s happening. The reading says how much.
- 1 min 20 sIn the high-voltage zone for
- 1People inside the zone right now
- 0Items of protective gear in sight
- 10:42Time of the alert
- 17Days since anyone was last seen here
The figures on this screen are an example from the illustration, not any client’s measurement.
The rule
You decide once. IRIS applies it always.
If
a person enters the high-voltage zone and no hard hat, face shield, gloves or protective clothing can be seen on them
Then
- alert the control room right away with the camera, the time and the video
- call the person in charge of work at that site on the radio
- keep the sequence from the moment the person enters the frame
The instruction that set it up«Tell me if anyone enters the high-voltage zone without a hard hat, gloves and protective clothing, even if they are only walking through.»
What changes
What changes for whoever answers for the plant
Forty sites on the control room wall, and hardly ever anyone inside any of them: that’s why the operator isn’t watching this one. An alert in the minute it happens is the difference between a call on the radio and an accident report. IRIS sees that there’s a person inside the zone and that they aren’t wearing the kit you can see from outside: hard hat, face shield, gloves, long sleeves. And it says so with the image in front of you. The operator calls, stops the work or sends somebody. The decision is still a person’s; what changes is that it is taken now and not tomorrow.
What people usually ask
Does IRIS know who that person is?
No, and it doesn’t try to. It does not recognize faces, does not compare them against any database and does not store who anyone is. What it detects is a situation: somebody is inside the high-voltage zone and isn’t wearing the protective gear that should be visible. Who that person is, is worked out by whoever goes to look.
What if they’re wearing the gear but it can’t be seen?
Then IRIS doesn’t count it, and that’s how it should be read. The camera only reads what shows from the outside: hard hat, face shield, gloves, long sleeves. If something is hidden by the body or by a piece of equipment, the rule may raise an alert it didn’t need to. It’s a prompt to go and look, not a verdict, and the one who closes it’s the person looking at the picture.
Can IRIS cut the power when it detects this?
No. IRIS doesn’t switch anything, doesn’t open or close anything and doesn’t send anyone anywhere. It raises an alert with the camera, the time and the video. Who acts, how and in what order is decided by the person responsible for that site, following their own procedures.

What does a venue with twenty thousand people inside see?
15 cases: 11 raise an alert when something happens and 4 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.

And the best part
You don’t need to buy cameras:you need yours to understand what they see.
Nothing gets built, mounted or rewired. It plugs into what is already up and running, and the only thing that changes is what those cameras understand.
Tell us your problem and we’ll say whether IRIS understands it, or not yet.
A person answers, the same working day.
