IRIS sees facts — a cabinet standing open, cable coming out, two people in the yard, no hard hats or work clothes in sight — and checks them against the jobs the company itself has declared for that day and that spot. If there’s a declared job, nothing is raised. If there isn’t, the alert goes out with the picture. It never says anyone is stealing: it says what’s being done and that nobody booked it.
Can IRIS stop it?
No. IRIS doesn’t act: it doesn’t lock doors, it doesn’t set off sirens on its own, it doesn’t operate anything and it doesn’t phone anyone. What it does is make sure somebody finds out while it’s happening rather than the next day, with material to decide on: how many people, at which spot in the compound, since what minute.
