CAM-332
A person on the ground and an empty plant around them
Early afternoon in a unit with no permanent staff. A worker in blue coveralls and a yellow hard hat is lying face up across the drainage channel, arms spread. He isn’t moving. There’s nobody around: the stairs are empty, the walkway is empty, the rest of the plant is empty. The camera doesn’t know what happened to him. It knows there’s a person on the ground, in a place where nobody lies down, and that he hasn’t moved for a while.

What IRIS understands
What it recognizes in this scene
- person on the ground, not moving
- drainage channel
- pump skid under the canopy
- process column
- emergency call point
What this camera measures
An alert says something’s happening. The reading says how much.
- 4 min 10 sTime without moving
- 1People in the frame
- 0People around
- 13:02Last movement seen
- 13:06Time of the alert
The figures on this screen are an example from the illustration, not any client’s measurement.
The rule
You decide once. IRIS applies it always.
If
a person is lying on the ground and is still not moving after the time set
Then
- open the alert with the camera, the spot and the video from before the fall
- call the control room and the plant emergency team
- keep the live camera open until someone arrives
The instruction that set it up«Tell me if anyone stays motionless on the ground for more than a minute anywhere in the unit.»
What changes
What changes for whoever answers for the plant
Ten past four in the afternoon, at a unit with no permanent staff, and somebody has been on the ground for eight minutes. Without a camera, the next person to walk by finds them, and the next person may walk by at the end of the shift. With the rule in place, the alert goes out on its own, with the camera, the exact spot and the video, and somebody sets off now. IRIS does not identify anyone or diagnose anything: it sees that there is a person on the ground not moving, not who it is or what has happened. That’s for whoever arrives to say.
What people usually ask
Does IRIS know whether the person is unconscious or injured?
No, and it doesn’t claim to. IRIS doesn’t diagnose. What it sees is a person on the ground, in a place where nobody lies down, who hasn’t moved for a while. With that it raises the alert and shows the video. What’s wrong and what to do is decided by whoever gets there, because that’s the person who can go up to him.
What if someone is working lying on the ground?
The rule gets adjusted. Some jobs are done on the ground, which is why the no-movement time and the area are tuned with the plant. A fitter who moves while working raises nothing; a person who stays still where nobody stays still does. The plant writes the rule, not IRIS.
Is this useful in unmanned installations?
Yes, and that’s where it counts most. At a remote valve, a pumping station or an unattended unit there’s nobody who could see the person on the ground. The camera is already installed and already looking. What changes is that now, when something like this happens, someone finds out right away.

Malls
What does a mall see beyond the visitor count?
12 cases: 4 raise an alert when something happens and 8 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
Airports
What does an airport see before the line forms?
14 cases: 7 raise an alert when something happens and 7 only measure. You see each image as it is, and then with what IRIS understands on top.
And the best part
If the camera doesn’t show it,IRIS doesn’t see it. We say so up front, not afterward.
No camera sees through a wall or in complete darkness. We’d rather show you where the limit is, and place what you have well, than promise something that never appears on screen.
Tell us your problem and we’ll say whether IRIS understands it, or not yet.
A person answers, the same working day.
